“ Somewhat limited menu catered towards sushi (obviously) but a lot of different sushi rolls to choose from. First time EVER having sushi, and i ordered cooked sushi. It was amazing. There is a kids menu bento box with plain, simple items children love. Affordable pricing and friendly atmosphere. Would dine again ”

Conveniently located downtown near the events centers and hotels. Large patio. Lots of indoor seating as well for those rainy days. Does have a sushi bar and a regular bar for seating in addition to the regular table and high top tables. ”

“ Honestly the best vegan sushi I’ve had & it’s in Iowa! I love this place and visit every time I’m back in Des Moines (or Omaha bc there’s a location there too). My favorite rolls are the “shiitake to me” and the “Vegan South Pacific”The tofu lettuce wraps are also fabulous - the sauce is super peanutty. Highly recommend! It’s also great for groups - just went with a party of 12. You just need to call because you can’t do a resy that large online. Don’t miss the happy hour! We fed all 12 of us and a couple got drinks and the bill was two hundred for everyone! Personally, the drinks are not my fave - too sugary! ”
“ My family came down to Des Moines for my mother and brother in-law's birthdays. My parents had eaten at Blue Sushi on a previous visit and loved it. All seven of us, including my one year old niece, were seated quickly near the bar area. Our waitress was quick to take our orders. We had two appetizers - Brussel Sprouts and Lettuce Wraps. One of my sisters did not want Sushi so she ordered the Beef Hot Rock. Her daughter ate some noodles and cucumbers from the water. The rest of us ordered a variety of Sushi including Tidal Wave, Cowgirl, and Green Eggs and Hama. All were delicious! ”
